Over the decades we have had the pleasure of organising many initiatives and campaigns in favour of environmental sustainability. In recent years, the sustainable lifestyle that we promote has steadily become the everyday routine that regulates our actions.

Development goals

Having been keen to develop its business activity in an ethical and sustainable way for some time now, Kemon has just published its first sustainability report.

Partnerships

We have been a Corporate Golden Donor of the FAI
- Italian National Trust - since 2014. In 2015, we were among the
founding members of the Fondazione Archeologia Arborea,
an ancient orchard and a rich repository of biodiversity
in the municipality of Città di Castello, with about 400 ancient
and rare fruit tree species.

Kemon Open Lab

Not far from our plant, we converted about 20 hectares of land
to organic farming of medicinal and local plants.
This open-air green research lab allows us to test the best
organic ingredients for producing sustainable cosmetics.

Sustainable Packaging

Kemon has always been keen on seeking more sustainable solutions for its
products. For this reason, the packaging of Cramer Color System has been
renewed: our colour tubes are now made from recycled aluminium and we
have switched to recycled paper for the tube boxes and other paper packaging
components of our hair colour ranges.

Pouch Bag

For an ever more sustainable global approach to the world of hair colour,
our developers are also available in pouch bags, a new packaging solution
that saves 75% plastics compared to traditional bottles
and avoids product waste.

Clean Energy

We only use 100% Multiutility clean energy produced by the power plants of the Gruppo Dolomiti Energia in the eastern Alps. In addition, we voluntarily adhere to the Kyoto protocol, offsetting our Co2 emissions with the financing of a hydroelectric power plant in China.
CO2 emissions

Protection of resources

We equipped our plant with a reverse osmosis water purification system, which allows us to reduce waste and avoid the use of unsustainable chemical products. In 2015, we began using energy efficient LED lighting in our production plant, and we have chosen hybrids as our company cars. For its offices, Kemon uses only non-bleached recycled paper: every 500 sheets of recycled paper used saves 83% of water, 72% of electricity and 53% of CO2 released into the atmosphere. For our marketing communication, we are committed to using FSC paper.

Certifications

Over the years, we have reached increasingly higher certified standards of quality, production and environmental sustainability: our production plant is certified under ISO 14001, which regulates the Environmental Management System. We were a forerunner in the certification arena: our quality management system has been certified for almost 20 years.
